During the first semester of my freshman year I took the honors section of English 150. Because it was an honors course, the class size was small. This allowed us to spend much of our class time in discussion. Our professor encouraged each of us to share with the class our observations, interpretations, and questions regarding the assigned readings. The small class size also meant that we were able to meet with our professor one-on-one if we ever needed assistance.
A great deal of the semester was spent reading “The Road.” We were assigned a specific number of pages to read every week, and we would have quizzes during every class to test us on the assigned reading. After finishing the book we watched the movie and then wrote a paper analyzing two characters of our choice.
