Goal 12 – Ethics

PHIL 315 – Biomedical Ethics

This Biomedical Ethics course focused on many common ethical issues that health care providers are frequently faced with. As nurses, we often encounter many ethical issues in the field of medicine. Some of these ethical issues include physician assisted suicide, embryonic stem cells, life support, cloning, and prenatal genetic mutations, just to name a few. As nurses, it is important to educate ourselves on these topics and consider what our own beliefs are on the topics before being faced with these situations in practice. I chose to write my final research paper for this class on genetic engineering. I did extensive research on this topic and highlighted some of the opposing and supporting views on genetic engineering.
