Being in this class, I realized just how much I had to learn about writing. In my high school, I was recognized as an incredibly talented writer. I’ll admit, I came into this class with an ego. I was quickly humbled, but instead of giving up in the face of this task, I rose to it. My first draft for this story sucked, I’ll admit it. It wasn’t that great. But over the semester I learned a lot about writing techniques I didn’t know, and learned how to implement the ones I was subconsciously aware of. I’ve grown a lot as a writer since I first submitted my first draft into this workshop, and it’s been a growth for the better.
