In fall 2018, I took Chemistry 111. I enjoyed this class because it was very challenging to earn an A. I had to get used to the questing system, which is basically a bunch of smaller quizzes that you have to pass in order to pass the class, and then harder quizzes to get you to a higher letter grade. I was frustrated at first with this system because I found some of the topics a lot more difficult to master than others, and “failing” a quiz is easier than you would think. Nevertheless, I managed to get a hang of this new system fairly quickly. With the help of several tutoring sessions and some minor crying breaks, I managed to complete the class with an A. I am very proud of my work ethic and I am continuing to thrive in my current chemistry classes so I hope this continues.
For my artifact, I chose to include my first 5/5 on a quest. This class was very rewarding because I did see a significant increase in how I was performing on quests and how much studying I did. I don’t usually see a difference so quickly but for this course, I really saw my grade soar.
Below is a photo of one of my quests from Chem 111. I took this quest on September 4, 2018.
