In the fall of 2018, I took my citizen 110 class. This course was called ” Choosing Well, Acting Right, Being Good”. I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this course. My professor did his best trying to explain how this course was going to go but I still struggled at first. I never would have signed myself up for this class but I am glad that I was in it.
One thing that was difficult was that I had to take notes the way that he specified, not in my own way. This forced me to spend extra time on readings because I was not used to his format of note taking. Nevertheless, I learned how to take notes the way he wanted us to, and still barely met his requirements. I wasn’t used to this level of difficulty to earn a good grade and this was a good learning experience for me. I learned that not every professor likes notes the same way, and in the future I hope to be able to understand this and conform to whatever my next course requires.
My artifact that I chose to use was a study guide I completed. My professor had us create our own study guides off of a bulleted list of points we needed to know. It was super helpful and I have used this technique in other courses since then.
Here is a link to the study guide.
