At Longwood University every student is required to take a foreign language, I decided to take for my language. I took two years of Latin during my time in High School. I really enjoyed the way this class was formatted. There was daily homework assignments and quizzes every other class to test us on what I just learned in my homework. This ultimately helped a pattern of preparing for tests right at the beginning of learning a new chapter. There were three papers written in the span of the class. The essay I’m sharing is a Comparative essay on two different types of death in Rome. The format of the paper was to explain what the two essays were going to be about and how they were being compared with two main body paragraphs, one for each essay and a conclusion with how they related. Overall I think learning Latin 111 helped me have a better understanding of the English vocabulary, even improving my English skills.
