Introduction to Mathematics Education

This course was the introduction to mathematics education. I learned many techniques that are important for teaching and these techniques were used in the final assignment of the class which was our lesson plans. Every student was required to write, teach, and reflect on a lesson involving fractions. Fractions can be a struggle for many students as they are often not taught with enough context for a student to fully comprehend them. Thus, the lesson plan we wrote this semester introduced us to the world of teaching concept over algorithm and allowed us all to see our problem areas that we will improve upon over the next four years.
