Read and Write: This is a program that you can download on your computer or other electronic device that will read aloud a PDF or Word file. There are many other benefits to this application like highlighting, talk and type, translator, and more! You do not need to be registered through the Office of Disability Resources (ODR) to use this.

How to download:

  1.     Visit: https://www.texthelp.com/en-us/products/read-write/#
  2.     Click on try now
  3.     Choose your platform (Android, iPad, Windows, Mac OS, Chrome, Edge)
  4.     Click install
  5.     Select a product (Read and Write for (platform) –US
  6.     It will take approx. 5 minutes to install
  7.     Sign in with Microsoft outlook email (first.last@live.longwood.edu) and password
  8.     The Read and Write toolbar will pop up
  9.     Mess around and get comfortable
  10.     ENJOY!

Stress & Anxiety Management Apps:

  1. Oak: Allows users to choose from options that include meditating, breathing, and selecting sounds to help with falling asleep.
  2. Relaxing Melodies: Allows users to sleep through the night and relax with the use of 52+ melodies. Users can even create their own mixes and combinations of melodies.
  3. Pacifica: This app provides tools that were designed by a psychologist using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to decrease symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. The app encourages daily sessions so the user can learn how to manage stress, anxiety, or depression. The app also offers a mood trackers, meditation, and breathing techniques.
  4. Headspace: Meditation-This app allows users to relax their mind by providing tips, meditation techniques, and skills to manage stress and anxiety. It can help the user achieve more effective sleep and improved functioning throughout the day.
  5. PureMind: Provides meditation courses, relaxation music, quick 5 minute support (stress relief and meditation), and color therapy.
  6. The Mindfulness App: Allows users to relax their mind, using meditation with timed session, Users can keep track of their journey and even customize their own meditations.
