PHIL 315 – Biomedical Ethics
I took Biomedical Ethics during the Winter Intersession my sophomore year. I will be the first to say that this definitely wasn’t a good decision for me as I had taken a heavy load of classes during the fall semester and just wanted a break. This class didn’t end up being all terrible, though. I actually did learn a lot about ethics in medicine, which I probably still wouldn’t know about if it weren’t for being forced to take this class. Honestly, I don’t really have much to say about this class as it was kind of a pain in the butt. There were no due dates except that everything was due at the end of the intersession. This class really tested my procrastination skills, but, hey, I did it to myself. I could’ve waited and taken it during the semester but I wanted to get it over with and, in the end, I’m glad that I did it. As the final assignment, we were required to write an essay on a biomedical ethics topic, extract an argument from it, and argue for or against it. Below is a copy of my essay.
