Goal 1 – LSEM 100

LSEM 100-52 – Honors Longwood Seminar

Longwood Seminar, also known as LSEM, was a great introductory class. It was able to serve more as a breather than a difficult class for me. We were able to come to class every week and ask questions we had about campus, classes, or pretty much anything, and our mentor Emily was able to answer them for us. It was great to have LSEM with other honors students because we all were going to through the same struggles as first time freshmen, but also as first time honors freshmen. This class definitely allowed me to become more acclimated to college life. We covered many topics from health and wellness to community service and wrote weekly journal reflections on them. I really enjoyed writing these reflections because they weren’t like any of the other assignments I had in my other classes. They were a casual assignment that didn’t require any stress, which was good when I was stressing about my assignments from other classes. As a part of my LSEM class, we were required to do community service. I went on the service retreat to Hull Springs Farm and had an amazing time with other honors students. Attached is an essay reflecting on my experience at Hull Springs Farm.
