I enhanced my organization behavior course to deepen and further my understanding of diversity on a college campus. I explored how students experience and react to diversity. I will be improving my listening, writing, research, and presenting skills through this enhancement. I will also be expanding my own personal ideas on diversity through this research. Dr. Woznyj and I worked together to complete this enhancement.
We hosted a focus group with five students. This focus group was very conversational with very little input from Dr. Woznyj and me. From the results of that focus group, I created a survey and administered it to students. We had 15 freshman, 19 sophomore, 29 junior, and 16 senior responses, respectfully. From those responses we were able to draw conclusions. The process of hosting a focus group, creating and administering a survey, and analyzing the results taught me professional research skills. Along with the presenting skills I used while presenting my research at the Honors Poster Presentation.
