Internship

The summer of 2018 I had the amazing opportunity to have an internship at Tessco Technologies! I was the intern for the Vice President of Sales Operations, Michael Chase. Tessco manufactures, distributes, and installs products to companies, vendors, and end users that makes wireless technology possible.

My time at Tessco Technologies provided me with insight of life at work with a big company. I was assigned three main projects to work on during my time at the company. The first was regionalization which involved moving the sales department from sectors to regions of the nation. I analyzed data and how the redistribution of accounts would impact work load for the sellers and their support teams. The second was creating a customer score card which would prioritize our customers to be able to efficiently distribute time to make the company more profitable. The last project I was assigned was case reduction where the end goal was creating a new way to file cases to make accessibility easier for employees.

Working at Tessco showed me business skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. It taught me business communication and how to approach uncomfortable conversations along with casual talks. It taught me how to network and make connections with people who can help you in the future. I also learned many skills for success from my adviser who acted as a mentor and leader. He shared his life experiences and advise he has learned from years in the business world.
