Music appreciation was an amazing class that was stimulating both in and out of the classroom. This class made me connect with my musical side by writing my own short composition along with performing it for the class. I learned about how music is composed and different styles of music. I also learned in great detail about genres of music and their corresponding composers of that time period. As a class we attended two outside the classroom events which were truly amazing experiences. We attended the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and the Richmond Opera. It was exciting to see what we learned in class outside the classroom.
