We’re back!
Sorry folks, we had some intermittent downtime and slowness starting Tuesday afternoon (9/22) around 4pm. It was caused by some misbehaving plugins which we have now cleared up. Blogs was back to normal performance around 9am on Thursday 9/24. Our apologies for the interruption!!
Upgrade
We will be updating Longwood blogs from 8:30am-12:30pm on Wednesday November 25th 2015. During the update window all content will be in “Read only” mode. Sites/blogs cannot be edited or changed. If you need to edit your blog please do so prior to, or after the update window.

New Anti-Spam Measures for Blogs
To combat the onslaught of spam comments that blogs are getting lately, we’re now implementing a few features that should help decrease the amount of spam significantly. If you’ve been getting spam, let us know if these measures have helped or not by leaving a comment on this post or through the contact page.
For those that are curious, here are the specific changes (or as specific as we can be without giving away any secrets ;)):
- Trackbacks are now disabled by default. You can turn them back on if desired, though.
- A popular spam filtering plugin is now enabled for all blogs.
- Visitors that aren’t logged in can no longer leave their website address in comments, unless it’s in the comment body.
Important Announcement or Highlight
Very likely this will be a place for important site-wide announcements or perhaps a place to highlight interesting blogs with recent activity. I guess we will see!
