KINS 301 Enhancement

I had the opportunity to do a split section in KINS 301 – Principles of Therapeutic Interventions. I thoroughly enjoyed having the extra time to work with my fellow Honors peers within the coursework of my major, which was a nice change of scenery. In addition to working with my peers more often, I also got to work with my professor one on one. The professor, Dr. Cuchna, was amazing to work with; she really helped set me up for success and really became one of my mentors.

In this split section, the cohort of Honors students collectively created an infographic for our entire class (which is attached), which served as a helpful learning and study tool. The healing phases was a crucial and dense topic in this class, so it was definitely very useful to break down the information in an aesthetic way. In addition to this project, I had the opportunity to expand on a project that was done in class and take it outside of class. I wrote a Critically Appraised Topic, which is essentially a summary of research evidence organized around a specific clinical question, while in class; outside of class, I got to present my findings at the Fall 2021 Research & Creative Inquiry Showcase. It was a great experience, and I ultimately won 2nd place for the Pre-recorded presentation of a class research project. Receiving this definitely caught me off-guard! Had it not been for this enhancement, I would have never even considered presenting my research, but I’m very glad that I did!
