The Honors Community was concentrated around me daily during my time at Longwood between Wheeler and Stevens. I did not become a part of the Honors College until my sophomore year, so I never got to live in Wheeler. However, I spent a lot of time in Wheeler taking classes and hanging out with other honors students. It was typical to have some of my classmates show up in pajamas and sock feet, but it was alright because Wheeler was our space. Being surrounded by other like-minded scholars during academics and social time was important for development and comfort, it was truly our little community.

Being concentrated together helped me get to know other Honors students that were outside of my major. We could also share our struggles and triumphs together without fear of judgement. I love the way Longwood helps honors students get acquainted early on and gives us an area to be ourselves.
