While this course proved itself to be challenging at times, it satisfied a Pillar and it gave me a lot of financial knowledge to prepare for the future with. The first semester of this course was mostly a review of concepts and procedures I learned in high school. The second semester was the financial application of those concepts. Using various formulas, we learned how to calculate payments, mortgages, and loans. This information will be very useful to me when I am financially liable. The class consisted of weekly homework assignments, two exams, one final exam, and three written paper projects. While the professor and class structure can be improved on, the content of this class is useful, applicable, and challenging in a good way.
The written paper projects in this course not only encouraged group work, but also allowed us to apply our classroom knowledge to real life scenarios. Attached is a sample of our last written paper project. I worked with another honors student, Anna Sotelo, on these papers.
