Letter to senior self

Laura,

You did it! By this time you are probably more than ready to walk across the stage, shake President Revely’s hand, and start your journey as Ms. Wilcox, an elementary school teacher. However, I hope you can take these next few moments to reflect on how good Longwood has been to you.

I hope you still cherish the friendships from Wheeler 202 and 204. They were your first friends here and played the biggest role in helping you adjust to this new life.

I hope you’re still super proud of yourself for running for Class Council just a month into your college career, that was a big step for you and lead to more elections and more clubs, like Honor and Conduct board, training to be a Resident Assistant, and joining the SGA senate.

I hope you kept up Dean’s list (and maybe even got a President’s List recognition, too). You’ve always valued good grades and success, never stop.

These are just a few reflections from yourself as of Spring 2019, so don’t forget the values and lessons Longwood will teach you each and every school year.

Freshman-year-Laura is proud of Senior-year-Laura, no matter where you end up.

Best of luck, Ms. Wilcox.

Spring 2019
