The most important reason I chose to attend Longwood University is because of the community. When I was given the opportunity to apply to the Cormier Honors College, there were so may reasons why it was appealing like registering for classes early or moving in early, but what really drew me to CHC was the community it created. During the CHC tours and the retreat, the honors students never hesitated to smile or say hello to each other even if they didn’t know one another. The students would offer to help other students with moving in, finding their classes or they would just make an effort to see how you were adjusting to college. The students in CHC understand that in order to succeed, you may need a helping hand and that even if your family is far away, your CHC family is always there.
