Hi, I am Sydney Marie Thompson. I grew up in the small town of Washington, New Jersey, where I graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School. I always knew I wanted to go to a small university, and I am so glad to call Longwood home and be a part of the Cormier Honors College.
Ever since I was a little kid, I loved to travel and learn about new places, whether they were different towns, states, or countries. The summer before I started middle school, I was fortunate enough to travel with a student ambassador program to multiple countries in Europe. This trip was where my fascination turned into a passion as I was able to learn and witness first hand the history and culture of these multiple countries, and I knew one day I would have a career interacting on a global scale. My interest in politics grew along side this passion, starting in third grade with a field trip to the state capitol, and with every civics and government class in middle school and high school. This is why I am in the process of receiving my Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in global politics and a minor in homeland security.
