Every junior/senior at Longwood University completes an overarching symposium on the common good class to finish their Civitae, general education, requirements. The purpose of this course is to work more intimately through research, advocacy, discussion, and reflection on issues regarding the larger communities we are a part of and become motivated to serve as citizen leaders in acting to resolve community issues.
Symposium students partake in “symposium day,” a day of research and project presentations for the campus and Farmville community to show these issues to others and encourage action.
