This class taught by Dr. E. Derek Taylor was a class that was supposed to teach the students how to analyze different types of writing, whether it be on a webpage, in a letter, or in a textbook. It was a very useful class that allowed me to figure out how people get their message across in certain ways. For example, we looked at several different advertisements and figured out who the primary and secondary audiences were. This part of the class was very interesting because it implemented English and a little bit of psychology (why the advertiser would advertise in a certain way).
We also did a paper that was supposed to help us better organize our papers. Dr. Taylor worked with the students a lot in order to allow us to get the most out of the class. Attached is a research paper on the topic of our choice. My paper is titled: The Effects of Music on Health and Academic Performance: A Literature Review.
