Scholarship

Throughout my first year at Longwood, I have discovered that college is a lot different than I thought it would be. It is more academically challenging, and this is something I have desired for a long time. Now that I’m here, I am excited to be challenged in my classes every day. When I was a music major, my academic challenges included my Music Theory class and my ensembles. Next semester, however, I look forward to pushing my limits in more scientific classes like Biology labs and Physics classes. Now, I have enjoyed and look forward to classes such as Sociology of Education and Perspectives on Childhood and Parenting. Additionally, I really enjoy the Honors College because it gives us the opportunity to take Honors classes like Markets and Morals and Reproductive Justice. These classes are really important to me because, in them, I will not be learning basic knowledge in math, science, history, or English; I get to learn about real world problems, which I never got to experience in high school. I really enjoy learning, so I am looking forward to continuous academic challenges that the Honors College will provide for me.
