Service

Service

During my time at Longwood, I have had the opportunity to serve some of the organizations and individuals around me. Among these opportunities have been visiting my High School yearbook class to teach photography in the fall of 2018, and Relay for Life at Longwood during the spring. At the end of my freshman year, I was appointed team captain for the Cross Country team; a position that I approached with a “lead through service” mentality. More recently, I have had the opportunity to volunteer at some local trail races. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was difficult to stay involved, but I found that maintaining some lesser-known hiking trails near my house was a great way to help the community while keeping my distance. Towards the end of the pandemic, I also volunteered as a scribe at a vaccine clinic in Farmville.
