After three years at Longwood and two years as a kinesiology major, I find myself asking “where has all the time gone?” I mean that in more ways than one. Of course, there is the cliché sentiment of “Junior year is the hardest!” which I have found to be true – I’ve been left with very little free time. Perhaps more significantly however, is the sheer speed with which my time here at Longwood seems to be rushing by.

Two years in, I am still satisfied with my decision to change majors from photography to kinesiology. It better suits my interests, gives me a much clearer path towards graduate school & a career, and I simply feel more prepared to face the world (although this last item is likely somewhat a symptom of normal growth). I have become the only student-tutor in the entire department, I have been unofficially offered a TA position for next spring by one of my professors, and I am staying on campus for the summer to work on repeated-sprint-fatigue research as part of the PRISM program. In addition, I am completing my virtual study abroad as a hospital intern in India, helping to prescribe exercise treatment for patients with fibromyalgia.
