Being a member of the Cormier Honors College at Longwood has been a blessing in my life so far during my time at Longwood. “Community” is the word that comes to mind when I think of the Honors College. The Honors College is one BIG community full of like-minded individuals who differ in majors, but share similar ideals. It is so much more than registering for classes early or getting unique, different classes. You become a big family who love on, support, encourage, and uplift one another.
Being a part of this community of scholars has allowed me to meet new people and make new friends as well as becoming apart of other communities on campus. From being apart of Student Nursing Association (before changing majors) to Alpha Lambda Delta, I have never felt more apart of a community as I do at Longwood. My hope for this year is to become more involved in the CSDS Program by continuing to participate in NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) as well to expand my community further! Honors is community and this community= HOME.
