Common Good Project

For the Common Good Project, my team and I reflected on the public issue of prison overcrowding. We were able to take our knowledge and inform the public on how this public issue negatively affects our society as a whole. We were able to correlate the second course objective into our project to understand the nature of public discourse/debate as determined by purpose, audience, and context. To get our point across we had to use different techniques to present our issue to the public so that they had a different outlook on the issue at hand. We were able to take these transferable skills taught in class and apply it to our audience when presenting this public issue.

We were also able to correlate the fifth course objective into our project by understanding how the knowledge, skills, and values learned in general education are    interwoven and interrelated, and how they can contribute to the process of citizen leadership. Our group worked very hard and as a whole to come together as a team and find the best way possible to reach out to our audience. We all worked together on creating new ideas, gathering information, and creating formats, that would work best on bringing this issue forward.
