Brochure

The second assignment was to create a brochure to market a new product. For the brochure we collaborated in groups and my group decided to market a device called MemoryPro. The brochure provided me with an opportunity to master outcome #4. Which states that I created a “professional document that uses specific design elements”. The brochure assignment also completed course outcome #6 which states that my group “participates productively in collaborative groups”.

Outcome number four was accomplished by using inviting pictures, text, and white space portrayed on each panel.

One important take away point from completing this assignment was what information goes on each panel of the brochure. For example, on panel five the writer would want to include information about their companies mission, testimonies from customers, and biographies of company founders. Panel five serves as the “desire” panel.

Outcome number six was practiced by having to work collaboratively with my group members to:

  • split up the panels
  • communicate whose working and completing what, and
  • to discuss finishing touches.

Being able to successively work with others and to have clear communication skills is incredibly important to the professional world. This assignment has let us accomplish both those things. Brochures are important documents to know how to successful create in the career field of speech pathology. Brochures are easy and cheap ways to portray your message and get the message out to the intended audience.
