Global Citizenship

For my Global Citizenship pillar, I took American Sign Language 110. I chose ASL because I thought it would be very beneficial in my future career in case I am helping a Deaf individual or someone who is hard-of-hearing during a therapy session. This class was very hands-on, both figuratively and literally. He jumped right in and taught us in complete silence so that we were forced to learn signs and concentrate on those around us. We did not do any work on paper all semester. The majority of the class was spent having discussion with the professor, with other students, and/or describing pictures in sign language. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and am excited to take 210 in the fall!
