Human Behavior and Social Institutions

In order to fulfill my Human Behavior and Social Institutions pillar, I took Special Education 289. This class was very interesting to me because as a therapeutic recreation major, many of the topics correlated to what I was learning in my major courses. This class gave me a different perspective of disability in society.

My teacher was very knowledgeable about disabilities in society and ensured that everyone understood everything she was teaching. The class was mostly class discussion along with the lecture. She brought in guest speakers for different perspectives in a few classes as well. Her class was fairly laid-back with a lot of in-class partner work. In all, I enjoyed this class, learned a great deal that went along with my major, and found new ways to do group work that I can carry on into future courses.
