My name is Madellyn Carr and I am currently a junior Cormier Honors College student at Longwood University. I am majoring in Therapeutic Recreation and am on track to graduate in May of 2022. The Cormier Honors College has enriched my life and time here at Longwood in so many ways. I found some of my very best friends on the Honors Retreat during August of 2018, made memories out west on the Yellowstone Brock Experience trip in May of 2019, and am hoping to attend the South Africa study abroad trip in December of 2021. I am so appreciative of all the Honors College has done for me so far and cannot wait to see what else is in store for me during my last year and a half. I have learned the value of scholarship through the many Honors courses that I have taken, exposing me to classes and topics that I may not have taken otherwise. I have enhanced my value and love of service through the group and individualized service projects that I have been a part of throughout different organizations on campus. And lastly I have grown in my leadership skills through enriching classroom settings, on-campus jobs, and campus clubs and organizations. I sincerely hope that this e-portfolio gives you a glimpse into all that the Cormier Honors College and Longwood University has blessed me with and continues to provide for me as I move forward in my college career.
