Scholarship

Honors students have many opportunities to take classes meant just for them. The motto of these classes is “It’s not more work, it’s different work.” I feel like I have seen this in the few Honors classes I have taken so far. The work we have done has challenged me to think in ways that I hadn’t before which to me shows how it is different work and not harder work or more work. In one of the classes we looked at lots of journal entries and articles and talked about them in class by asking questions and observing what the article meant regarding what we were talking about. This meant we had to think in a different way than normal which was hard at first, but it got easier over time. The other class was different work because we mostly went around campus and talked to faculty and staff to try to understand some areas on the campus better. This allowed us to know more about the school and campus and to think of what could be done to make the campus even better. Another thing is that these Honors professors are always ready to help you when you need help in their class. In fact, it makes them happy that you want their help. All these things push me and help me to do my best, which is what scholarship means to me.
