Letter to Senior Self

Hi Senior me!

You’ve done a lot in these last few years. I’m proud of you, but I always am! You have your major, but I hope you have decided on a concentration if you want to do one. I know that public history is one of interest for you. Yay, if you have chosen that and even if you just decided to be a straight History major! I know that you will always try your best in all your classes, but I’m still going to say what you know I will say. Keep up the good work and persevere! Everything will be fine, even with all the inevitable ups and downs. That’s just life though, and I think you know that. It will be fun graduating, but I know that you will probably be a little sad too. All the fun memories made here will last forever. Through these years I hope you will stay active in the clubs you are in and try to volunteer and explore the community a little more. I hope you have stayed involved in Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Honors Student Association! These are awesome clubs to continue being a part of and making friends in. I hope these clubs and Honors have helped you have good friendships that will last after college is done. I want you to have had lots of fun, maybe even be a little rebellious if you have it in you to do that. Remember to learn about things you will have to do in life after college like bills and jobs. These things will help you live your life after college. There’s even something else I have just thought of… maybe you will find a little romance in these next few years. You never know, and I don’t think you will care if you don’t. I hope that you have continued to help at Honors events and maybe even gone and volunteered at FACES or the nearest SPCA. I know that you will find fun things to volunteer for and love them. Remember all this fun and hard work as your years at Longwood come to an end and carry them with you forever. Once a Lancer, always a Lancer!

One last thing to say to you, future me. I hope that you have remembered to always be yourself and know that life will always end up being good. I’m excited to know how far you have come in this near future! I’m proud of all that you have accomplished.

Good luck with the future!

Love,

Freshman Katherine
