This course was an introduction to child growth and development. This course was particularly interesting to me because I want to work with children for a living and EDUC 245 gave me a glimpse as to how a child in the age group I want to work with will behave and why they will behave in that way. We also discussed problems that each age group may face and how these problems may put a child in serious danger. This course was a challenge for me but I learned a lot in the end. I learned the importance of proper research in this course. For our final paper, we conduct online research for a ten page paper that was on a topic of our choice. This paper and the research required for it helped me learn how to properly use the Greenwood library’s database as well as learn the difference between an article and a scholarly article. This course’s intense  emphasis on scholarly research will definitely help me in my future courses as well as in my future career field that is weighted heavily in research.
