CTZN 110

This course explored different aspects of citizenship in the Hunger Games trilogy as well as compared it to real life events. Throughout the semester, we debated ethical and moral reasoning of the series as well as how it related to the community at Longwood as well as in the real world. We looked at themes such as governmental control, bystander effect, as well as capital punishment. This course taught me the importance of having good presentation skills/etiquette. Having small attention to details when it comes to presenting makes the project more memorable and easier to follow.  This course taught me how to properly give an oral presentation as well. As an introvert, I was very worried at the beginning of the semester because the class is discussion and spoken based so I knew I would be out of my comfort zone for the majority of the semester. This course gave me different strategies to help me be successful in my presentations as well as help me become more confident in my public speaking abilities. This course has helped me in many other courses that involved public speaking. I would like to say that I have become more confident with public speak because of this discussion based course.
