Service

I was very involved in serving my community during my time as a high school. By the end of my senior year, I had completed over 150 hours of community service and I knew I wanted to continue serving the Farmville community when I came to Longwood. The Cormier Honors College has given me a lot of service opportunities that have been very fulfilling. My favorite service opportunity was during the honors leadership retreat last summer when we volunteered at Heartland Horse Heroes. This was my first opportunity to serve the Farmville community so it was a very fulfilling experience.  I also want to work with children with disabilities in the future making this experience even more worth the effort! I also volunteered at FACES, the local food pantry in Farmville. Service brings you together with a community which is why it is so important and why the Longwood community is so strong.
