As a member of the Cormier Honors College, I am presented with many opportunities to take honors classes that “aren’t more work, but different work”. I’ve definitely found this motto to be true during my time here at Longwood. Honors professors push you out of your comfort zone and strive to give you as many opportunities as possible. It is often my honors classes that I end up doing the best in! I don’t want to say honors professors are there for you more than other professors are, however, I have noticed that I make longer-lasting bonds with these professors and that is something that makes me really happy. It makes me feel very sure in my choice to go to Longwood and be in the Honors College. To me, scholarship means setting a high standard for our grades and fulfilling this standard. As an honors student, I am required to keep my GPA above a 3.25 in order to stay in honors. This definitely pushes me to be the best me I can be.
