I was extremely nervous about taking this class. I am not the best memorizer and I did not think I would do well with memorizing all the drugs and the effects they have on the body. On the first day of class Dr. Minor emphasized that she was going to help us the best way she could throughout the course and she definitely lived up to that. She gave us a variety of acronyms and songs we could use to help us memorize the medications. She also gave us tips about the endings of certain medications and what they mean. This helped me so much just in the first week of this course that I had hope I would make it through. To receive honors credit for this course I did a joint assignment with my nutrition class to discuss and research the effects of food on medications. This was interesting because we were able to see how the food specifically effected the drug and ways to prevent it adverse effects. One challenge I faced in this course was with the neuro drugs. I personally hate the nervous system and struggle to understand it so pairing that with having to know what the neuro medications did was difficult for me. Overall, I really enjoyed this course and Dr. Minor.
