Service

At the Cormier Honors College, service is a key aspect for students. Students in the honors college are always doing work for their community, holding the door for someone or helping a fellow student when they drop their books; there is always someone there. I love being in the honors college because it gives me access to a variety of service opportunities on campus or in the community. The first week during the honors retreat, I was able to help move in other freshman. While it was a lot of work, at the end of the day I was happy to give back to my fellow classmates. Not only did I participate in freshman move-in, I also volunteered with the Honors Student Association at the Southside SPCA.  Being in the honors college really helps with getting involved and giving back to the community.
