Hi my name is Hope.  I am a freshman nursing student in the Cormier Honors College. I am minoring in music. I hope after college to be a nurse in the military and eventually go back to school to get my nurse anesthetist degree.

As a child I was unsure of what I wanted to do until I was about the age of ten. At ten I wanted to be a firefighter and help save people who were in need. A couple years later after seeing my mom as a nurse and loving her job, I decided I wanted to be a nurse as well. I started volunteering with the American Red Cross at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit helping with premature babies. This was when I knew for sure that I was going to be a nurse. I love to care for people and I feel like it is my calling to be a nurse. To me, nursing is not just a job but a career.
