CTZN 110 – Inquiry into Citizenship

This course was very different from what I expected. I learned quite a bit about morals, friendships and ethics while applying critical thinking and reasoning to our readings and discussions. I found this class to be very thought-provoking and really helped me see all points of view on a variety of issues and topics. It was very relevant to today’s world while also incorporating theories and logic established in the past. We thoroughly examined and discussed the Divine Command Theory (reference attached document for reading notes), Kantian deontology, utilitarianism, Aristotelian virtue ethics, as well as current moral issues such as abortion and the death penalty.

Below are my reading notes for the introduction and first four sections of the Divine Command Theory entry in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy (which can specifically be found at https://www.iep.utm.edu/divine-c/).
