About Me

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am currently a senior at Longwood University through the Cormier Honors College. I am a biology major with a minor in psychology and plan on attending nursing school following graduation. After earning my BSN and RN license, I hope to work towards becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. I discovered a love and passion for service years ago and would like nothing more than to dedicate my future career to the caring of others.

I am originally from Houston, Texas but more recently have resided in Northern Virginia. I came to Longwood University because of the welcoming and close-knit community that’s so prevalent throughout Farmville, VA. During my time at Longwood, I have been able to pursue extracurriculars that emphasize community service, such as Alpha Phi Omega, the Honors Student Association, and the Student Philanthropy Council. My diverse coursework and research experiences throughout the biology field, in addition to my internship at the NIH Clinical Center, have furthered my interest in the medical sciences and prepared me for a future career in nursing.

This ePortfolio will give you a glimpse into my education and experiences throughout my time at Longwood. If you have any questions or would like to reach me, feel free to contact me at nicole.barclay@live.longwood.edu.
