“Living-Learning Community”
As citizens of the Cormier Honors College, we often hear that phrase around campus. Community within the Honors College is just that. We live and learn with other honors scholars.
For example, our living situation. Most honors freshman live on the second and third floor of Wheeler. I can remember countless times this year where we have gathered out in the hallway. Some people work on homework, others chat, and some people even dance! Yes, we danced in the hallway! Don’t worry – we’re all family so nobody judges us! I’m so thankful for those times. Our hallway sessions were a time of much needed relaxation and socialization to get us through freshman year.
The service retreat and service projects are other opportunities for honors scholars to gather as a community. Check out my service tab for more information about the service retreat!
Many people move out of Wheeler after their freshman year. The community aspect of the Cormier Honors College is a great way to keep us together while we are all living in different places.
