Sociology in Practice, SOCL 105

I had great interest in taking a sociology class in my college education, and I was very excited when I was able to take a class my first semester freshman year. I loved learning about the ways in which society used to function and in which ways society evolved to create the world we live in today. It was interesting to learn about the way groups of people think differently, the importance of race within communities, and how we as humans can keep improving for the best.

Below is an example of a reading guide which would be completed after reading an assigned article. Students were expected to answer why the article was important to society in the present day, and what it means for society as a whole. This article happened to be about married couples who live in long distance relationships and what in their lives led them to live so far apart.
