EXPERIENCE

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, VA

IT Intern, May – July 2017

During the summer of 2017, I worked as an IT intern in the Cybersecurity department of Newport News Shipbuilding, owned by Huntington Ingalls. I specifically worked with the Cyber Assurance Group who handled the documentation and training aspects of the Cybersecurity department. My main tasks were to assist certain members of the team with policies and procedures, training and awareness, compliance, and a program called Archer. My assistance included creating, editing and distributing weekly internal cyber security awareness documents, gaining familiarity with and updated compliance documentation, policies, and procedures, and coordinating with development teams to maintain cyber assurance documentation. Out of all of the internships that I have had, my internship with Newport News Shipbuilding was the most rewarding and allowed me to get a glimpse of what a real career in cyber security could be like, bringing me one step closer to a job after graduation.

First Team Hampton Chevrolet Mazda, Hampton, VA

Receptionist, June – August 2016

During the summer of 2016, I worked as a receptionist at a car dealership, First Team Hampton Chevrolet Mazda with a team of highly professional customer service representatives. My main tasks were greeting customers at the front desk, answering phone calls, and handling the money for the car service department and for people who were putting money down on their new cars. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there because it gave me more experience with customer service and human interaction that I did not get with my other internships or jobs.

NASA Internships, Fellowships, and Scholarships (NIFS), Hampton, VA

NIFS Intern, June – July 2015

From early June 2015 to late July 2015, I worked with NASA’s Office of Education and the Educational Technology Integration Lab (ETIL) team. My main tasks were to assemble and test the Ditto Pro 3D printer and its functionality as well as assisting with the creation of Eventbrite and website pages promoting Langley’s YOUth Day event on July 29th, 2015. At the conclusion of my internship, I created and presented my work to the director of the Office of Education and staff.

NASA Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars (LARSS), Hampton, VA

LARSS Intern, June – August 2014

As an intern, I assisted my mentor with enhancing a website about the Multi-Attribute Task Battery-II (MATB-II) synthetic task environment software in NASA LaRC’s Safety-Critical Avionics Systems Branch. I was primarily tasked with the design of the MATB-II website and the editing, processing and conversion of multimedia content that was published on the website. I also helped test many different versions of the software first-hand for accuracy. I updated the MATB-II data by revising the MATB user’s list and adding records to the User’s database. Lastly, I was given the opportunity to observe experimentation with subjects in a lab setting.
