I am thankful for not only Ms. Znosko, but also Honors College as a whole for helping students such as myself adjust to the new responsibilities that college introduces. My involvement in the Honors College also allows me to reach out to both the living-learning community within the Honors College and the greater Farmville community. Being a part of the Honors College introduced me to a new family of learners. Both the Honors Retreat and the LSEM course helped me realize how important and special the bond between honor students is compared to other bonds formed at Longwood. As a student who is a part of the Honors College, I did not just gain a hall full of Honors students like me, but a family who is here to support and encourage me as we grow together as students.

Additionally, in the Spring of 2017, I served the Longwood community and other parts of Virginia through song with the Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC) Gospel choir. From the campus of Old Dominion University in February to our own campus during Spring Weekend, I along with the rest of BASIC helped to serve hope, joy, and love to our community and the surrounding communities. Being apart of BASIC has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my Longwood experience so far and I hope to continue to serve with my brothers and sisters as their chaplain during the 2017-18 school year.
