CMSC 350 – Ethical Issues in Math and Computer Science, Fall 2017

This course was very different than I expected it to be since it was looking at ethics and ethical issues from a mathematics and computer science perspective. The biggest lesson that I learned from my professor, Dr. Marmorstein, was how to be a better writer when it came to writing papers about ethical issues and how to be a better debater. I have struggled with public speaking for as long as I can remember because I am incredibly introverted and am much better at listening to other speakers than I am at speaking to listeners. However, Dr. Marmorstein ensured that all of his students wrote the best papers and gave the best presentations. Without his guidance, I would not have done as well on my assignments and I would have never seen ethical issues from this kind of perspective.
