HONS 295 – Special Topics: Love, Sex and Friendship, Spring 2018

This Honors course was another course that turned out to be different from what I expected it to be. Going into the course, I did not know what to expect, especially after reading the title of the course. During the course, I was pleasantly surprised by the philosophical perspective in which we saw love, sex, and friendship. I was able to gain a new outlook on these topics through the works of Aristotle, Plato, and the Bible just to name a few sources. We also watched an episode of Black Mirror and Lars and the Real Girl, which painted a different picture of love, sex, and friendship through film. Dr. Blincoe’s eccentric enthusiasm and excitement about the material is what really made this course come alive for me.

My reflection on the Christian love unit of the course
