Conclusion

Through the assignments in this course, I have learned how to effectively produce writing of different genres, create professional documents that use plain English, conduct research to create content, create professional documents that use design, practice oral communication skills, and collaborate productively. All of these skills are necessary for Speech-Language Pathologists. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I will have to write different types of writing (reports, insurance claims, etc.). I will also have to use plain English so that my reports are easy for parents, insurance, and coworkers to read. I will also need to know how to conduct research and use it in content to help children get the services that they need to be covered by insurance. Oral communication skills and collaboration skills are used daily in the lives of Speech-Language Pathologists. They have to collaborate with parents, occupational and physical therapists, and other professionals. All of these collaborative efforts will require strong oral communication skills.

I am glad that I took this class because the skills I learned are skills that I will use every day. These skills are so important to be a successful professional woman.
