The Professional Writing Program at Longwood

Are you a Longwood student in Communication Studies, Business, PreLaw, or other fields?

A Professional Writing Minor could add further value to a degree in any field, helping you gain a competitive advantage in the job market.

Employers often state that they’d like their team members to demonstrate stronger written communication skills. Longwood’s Professional Writing Minor provides students with a firm foundation in effective written communication and persuasion practices. Our courses focus on theories of persuasion for professional and public uses (analyzing a variety of texts ranging from speeches to digital media) and how to create workplace documents for a range of audiences and stakeholders.

The only prerequisite for the minor is ENGL 165 (Writing and Rhetoric).

Consider adding a Professional Writing Minor to your resume today!

You can add the minor by filling out Longwood’s Program Change Form (http://www.longwood.edu/registrar/procedures-forms/program-change-forms/) and emailing it to Registrar (registrar@longwood.edu)
